Scouts from Philadelphia, Milwaukee, and Pittsburgh in yesterday’s White Sox game

Scouts from Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Pittsburgh were in attendance. Much of the trade speculation has focused on catcher A.J. Pierzynski, who has attracted interest from Texas but can veto any trade on June 14.

But Brewers catcher Gregg Zaun went on the 15-day disabled list because of a right shoulder strain. The Brewers also need pitching help, and the Sox may have a surplus of relievers available.

Pirates sign Dovydas Neverauskas (Lithuania)

According to Dejan Kovacevic of The Pittsburg Post-Gazette, the Pirates have signed 16-yr old righthander Dovydas Neverauskas of Lithuania. The 6′-3″, 170 pounder is the first European amateur the club has ever signed. …

Do the Sox have any scouts in Eastern Europe? I think they signed a guy from the old Soviet Union in 1944 (pdf).
