Curiously, Lance Berkman had recently exercised his no-trade rights for possible deal with White Sox before accepting Yankees’ trade.
white sox Sox GM Kenny Williams, the king of the trade deadline, is quietly exploring possibility of acquring Brett Myers from Astros
Fangraphs on Myers: 113 K / 42 BB, 3.10 ERA, 3.52 FIP, 3.78 xFIP, 2.8 WAR, 49.8% GB%, .294 BABIP, 7.01 K/9, 2.61 BB/9, 0.74 HR/9
- 1 year/$5.1M (2010), plus 2011 mutual option
- 10:$3.1M, 11:$8M mutual option ($2M buyout)
Getting Myers, unlike Edwin Jackson, makes sense. And it has JJ’s approval!
UPDATE: Nightengale (USAT):
White Sox have Edwin Jackson included in current trade package for Dunn. If Sox get Dunn, then will try to land Astros’ Brett Myers
That would fix things.
There is buzz about the White Sox going for Astros Lance Berkman. He has .874 OPS vs RHP.
