Rosenthal (Fox Sports):

JJ examines whether the White Sox should trade for a starter.
UPDATE: Rosenthal says the Yankee$ are out of the Adam Dunn sweepstakes for now. Yeah right. The Yankee$ are out. Maybe it’s for 15 minutes…

Pitch Type LWTS correspond to how many runs were likely to score on a particular pitch based on average run expectancy when each pitch was thrown and what happened as a result. Negative scores indicate more effective pitches.
Time to Plate is the time, in seconds, that it takes an average pitch of this type to reach the plate. This is strongly correlated with velocity, but also factors in movement.

MiLB: Saladino, Wilkins.
Minor League Splits: Saladino, Wilkins.
The Big Teacher?
Thomas, the greatest hitter in Sox’s history, said he’s always lent his advice to the Sox’s hitters.
“I always give advice to hitters,” Thomas said. “The last five years of my career I helped a lot of young guys. It’s a growing process. I understand it now. My first 10 years it was hard to do that because I was so focused and driven. But as time wore on, I did realize that young guys do need a little help because it’s a transition from Triple-A to the major leagues.”
Big Frank was named a White Sox ambassador today.
Omar Vizquel says the Sox should:
“I think we need to add something,” Vizquel said. “If it’s not another pitcher, probably it’s another hitter. This is a time where we really need to make a step toward getting better and to separate between the teams that are around, having a chance, and the teams that really need to go on to the playoffs. I guess the final cut is coming, this is the last time to make a change, and I think that with another guy on the team we might secure the next step.”
Omar explains what the team needs to Kenny:
Gonzales and Merkin have more.
White Sox players will be on the Peoria Saguaros in the 2010 Arizona Fall League. Richard Dotson will be team’s pitching coach.
UPDATE: The Sox prospects that will play for the Peoria Saguaros will be named next month.
