On the mound, Daniel Hudson cruised through the first two innings before allowing three runs in the third. But the Sox remained encouraged because Hudson kept throwing the strikes and getting ground balls.
Guillen seemed to indicate that Hudson still projects as a starter in the minors because he doesn’t want him sitting in the bullpen for weeks should the Sox’s starters pitch deep into games.
“It’s a tough decision for us to make,” Guillen said. “But we want the best for him and the best for the club. … It’s something that goes through our minds every meeting we have.”
