Former Orestimba High pitcher Ter[r]ance Marin signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox Monday, and was immediately assigned to the organization’s Appalachian League affiliate in Virginia Marin was scheduled to leave Tuesday to join the Bristol White Sox.
Marin was not selected in the June draft, but last weekend the White Sox came calling, offering a contract to fill a pitching position in the rookie league. “I knew that I was not the typical size for a pitcher, so I would have to wait until somebody took a chance on me,” he commented. “Now I have to make the best of that chance.”
