whoever gets the nod as the 5th starter will have to be ready at any time after peavy comes back! because when he returns, peavy still will never be the same and could have this “sorness” as long as he pitches you know, so we need someone who might end up just taking over perminatly if needed. sale should be in the minors developing as a starter this season, just in case!

maybe it will be tony pena, even when kenny said he didn’t want that. it’s difficult to make a prediction based on the spring stats.

as you say, marquez has looked good:

so who is going to be the 5th starter? marquez has decent stuff, and once he settled down he looked solid. is he one of the options at this point? because this is a huge problem! the sox need a 5th starter who is solid or can at least keep us in the games he starts.

also, I know it’s only spring but damn, ohman might be the new linebrink in the pen because he hasn’t looked to great either. besides ohman, the pen looks ready.

on a good note, all of the everyday starters look ready in my opinion. well besides dunn, but I keep hearing that he never has good springs so I trust one of the most consistant hitters in mlb. now the only questions are the last roster spot which will probably be lillybridge’s because of his abillity to play the infield, and the 5th starter.
