Peavy on occasionally being skipped: "“I want to pitch. I’m going to fight that battle."—

Guillen admitted the organization is still talking about leaving Peavy back in extended spring camp to be more safe than sorry, possibly giving Humber a start, then bringing Peavy into the mix in mid-April.
But Peavy doesn’t want to be brought into the mix as the fifth starter, then get skipped whenever there’s a day off.
“I certainly understand coming off an injury [they’ll be careful], but when I’m deemed healthy, I want the ball every time my spot comes around,’’ Peavy said. “Like I said, I’ll certainly battle my authorities and put up a pretty good fight to get the ball.’’
Peavy said that if the Sox plan to skip him throughout the season, he would "fight that." Once he's deemed healthy wants normal schedule.—

We just got to maintain."—

one pissed peavster. he should be more worried about progress, and less about how many of his starts they skip. one step at a time, plus it’s about the team not just jakemister. I like him and want to see him have that cy young type year but he needs to get his priorities strait before he can do that.

I like him too and hope he has an excellent year, but man, is this guy intense or what?

he’s intense, but with a rare pitching injury he needs to take it easy.
