Chicago White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy put on a show Friday for a large contingent of national media gathered for his spring debut against the Los Angeles Angels. Peavy threw two hitless innings, with 16 of his 26 pitches going for strikes.
Peavy, coming back from surgery on a muscle that controls movement in his shoulder, allowed only one baserunner, on a walk. He followed that with a double-play grounder by Torii Hunter. Peavy was sharp and appeared to use most of his pitches, which hit more than 90 miles an hour on radar guns. He struck out two batters and got two fly ball outs. …
