Assuming the $15M demand is accurate, this does not reflect well on Konerko. When speaking about his free agency, Konerko said money was not the main factor. His family and playing for a winner would also factor into the equation.

Now it’s about money? Is this an ego thing because Dunn is making $14M/year? The fact that Dunn and AJ deferred money so the Sox can get Konerko signed means nothing to Konerko?

If this wasn’t about money, then this contract should have already been signed. As far as the amount of the contract, Konerko had a 2010 that is not repeatable which has to be taken into consideration. I’m not willing to break the bank for Konerko. If plan B is Derrek Lee for a lesser amount which allows us to fill other holes, that’s fine with me. And we get 2 draft choices next year.

Thanks for everything you did, PK but loyalty is a two-way street. And people who say one thing and do something else …

Yeah, $15 million a year won’t leave any room for the bullpen. Doesn’t make sense to fix one area when that means going with Linebrink type guys at the other. I don’t want to trade pitching.

15 mil / 3 years is too much.

12.5 mil / 3 years I would do but am not crazy about.
