Sox's Danks: I actually hate pitching against Twins
August 11, 2010 11:05 PM
By Mark Gonzales

… "I actually hate pitching against the Twins," Danks said after improving to 6-6 with a 5.01 ERA lifetime against Minnesota following a 6-1 win. "I'm not going to lie to you. Look at the numbers. They're my team that I've struggled against …

When Danks made these comments I thought he might be traded and replaced in 2011 with Sale or a pitcher acquired in the trade. Even with the great 1-0 playoff game Danks threw against Minnesota, it appears that the Twins are in Danks' head. Not good if one of your best pitchers lacks confidence against your main rival to the extent he hates pitching against them. Having said this, I always liked Danks and I wouldn't mind the extensio. But we have to improve our dismal record against the Twins and a Dank's turnaround against them is the first step.

The next step is Ozzie stopping his unabashed praise of the Twins as if they were the second coming of the 1927 Yankees. It just puts negative thoughts and reflections in the mind of Sox players before a Twins game even starts.
