Jake Peavy is 2 months ahead of his rehabilitation schedule

Pitcher Jake Peavy is ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation and said he will attempt to play catch around Nov. 1 — two months ahead of schedule.

“We’ll just play easy catch for a month and then in December just start stretching out and see if I can put something on the ball,” Peavy said. “And then we’ll see if we can get on the mound in January.

“That’s the hopeful and wishful thinking, and we’ll see if we can make that happen.”
