Manny wants a 1-year extension to waive his no-trade clause say Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi. If he clears waivers he’d gain leverage to do so. But if the White Sox claim him, as they plan and may have done already, the Dodgers would be able to negotiate with 1 team only and his leverage evaporates.
