Same thing with the McCarthy trade and the Swisher to the Yankees trade. Yes, John Danks grew to a player that’s much-much-much better Brandon McCarthy but at the time of the trade he hadn’t thrown one pitch in the majors while McCarthy had several quality starts and helped the Sox to 99 wins and a AL Central division crown. Same, and worse, with Swisher II. Why rush and give him away for such a low return? Shop him around. A better offer would be coming. If one didn’t came keep him. I’m tired of Kenny giving away a dollar and getting 50 cents back.

This is a bad trade when you consider the money and years controlled though, unless Jackson pitches much better than most expect him to.
