The Southern Illinois Miners are proud to announce that all-star pitcher Ryan Kussmaul’s contract has been sold to the Chicago White Sox organization. Kussmaul is 3-1 with a 2.68 ERA in eight starts this season. He is the 13th former Miner to join a Major League organization and the first Miner to do so this season.The hard throwing righty is in his second season with Southern Illinois. He signed with the Miners following his college career last summer. He will remain with the club for the remainder of the current road trip and is expected to join the Sox single-A affiliate, the Kannapolis (N.C.) Intimidators of the South Atlantic League.
