According to one major-league source, however, unless the mood around baseball changes by Monday, the market for catcher A.J. Pierzynski is all but non-existent.
”Texas was eyeing [Pierzynski] up for a week, saw what they needed to see, and that’s it,” the source said.
Meaning that Pierzynski’s 10-and-5 rights will kick in on June 14, giving him control of any trade the Sox might try afterwards.
