Garfien:

Ozzie also said that when A. Jones is in lineup he’ll mosty be in OF, not DH.

Does that mean less Juan Pierre?

UPDATE: Gregor has more:

Ozzie said the left-handed hitting Kotsay and right-handed Andruw Jones are likely to platoon this season, with a slight twist.

Jones will be the designated hitter quite a bit vs. left-handed starters, but Ozzie said he is more likely to play the outfield when he does start.

Jones can play all three outfield spots, and it looks like he’ll be mostly used in left, with Pierre either taking a seat or moving to DH.

UPDATE #2: Merkin explains things:

With five right-handed starters scheduled by Cleveland and Minnesota, the right-handed-hitting Andruw Jones might not find many at-bats in this first homestand. When Jones does get out on the field, though, manager Ozzie Guillen said on Wednesday that the veteran will get plenty of time in the outfield.”I’m pretty sure when Jones is in the lineup, he’ll be in the outfield. That’s what we think,” Guillen said. “Maybe I might change or not. He’s one of the best outfielders we have.” …

That was quick

… When it comes to sausage, the Milwaukee Brewers reign supreme. More than 910,000 sausages are projected to be serviced at Miller Park, which is the only stadium in Major League Baseball where sausages outsell hot dogs. The New York Mets finished a distant runner-up to the Brewers, with approximately 376,650 sausages expected to be sold at Citi Field this year. Finishing third in the NHDSC’s second-annual sausage consumption survey is U.S. Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox, with 325,000 projected in sausage sales.

He was in his fifth start for the Knights and was pitching close to home at the Norfolk (Va.) Tides’ home field, Harbor Park. About 80 family members were there to watch him.

Hudson was removed early from the game. He was miffed.

“I pitched three innings. I had only given up one hit and (Knights pitching coach Rich) Dotson told me they were taking me out of the game. He said I shouldn’t have walked that batter with two outs,” Hudson laughed about it Tuesday. …
