A huge difference between the White Sox and Cubs: the Sergio Santos factor. A converted infielder who throws 98 mph, Santos is trying to grab the last spot in a deep White Sox bullpen. If he was a member of the Cubs he’d be generating a lot more buzz, possibly even as a top set-up man. He’d be Marmol to a younger Marmol’s version of Kerry Wood, or something like that. This could change, but the deeper pitching staff on the south side makes the White Sox the best bet of Chicago’s two teams to play in October.
