Jake Peavy will pitch a bullpen session Wednesday with the probability he will pitch next week at Seattle he he shows he’s healthy. “Right now, if he has a good sideline, our options are: give him a couple days off and maybe pitch him in a game unless we feel he needs another sideline,” pitching coach Don Cooper said Tuesday. “(Or) do that (throw another bullpen session) again and then let him start a game and let our eyes dictate what we’re going to do. Let him go out there and pitch two, three, four, maybe five innings. It hasn’t been that long, but we’ll let our eyes and our gut tell us, along with the pitch count.” As of now, John Danks and Mark Buehrle are scheduled to pitch Saturday and Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels, so it appears Peavy would take Carlos Torres’ spot on Sept. 15. …
BTW, Gordon Beckham will test his right side before tonight’s game.
