how about an update?
Since the day the White Sox acquired Tyler Flowers from the Atlanta Braves in the Javier Vazquez trade in December, the knock on the young catcher was his defense was suspect, at best. Most forecasts had him eventually playing first base in the majors. Talk to scouts who have watched Flowers make the jump from Class AA Birmingham to the Class AAA Charlotte Knights and they insist his work behind the plate no longer is an issue.
BTW, Jim says Flowers hand injury doesn’t serious, as he warmed up the pitchers in the bullpen afterwards and also didn’t have any any kind of padding/splint/bandage on his throwing hand.
