Alex Rios is a good offensive player, best known for his defensive abilities in the outfield, where he has spent the majority of his career playing elite defense in right field. In Chicago, he’ll play center, and before people ask, Rios playing centerfield is not the same as Swisher, Mackowiak, and Podsednik playing centerfield. Rios is a natural centerfielder, who played right because he was blocked by Vernon Wells. Offensively, Rios has been a league average player but he has plus offensive tools and the ability to be the Sox first 30/30 player.
