Axelrod was signed by the White Sox on Aug. 4, a move that was only surprising because of its timing. Frontier League players are rarely signed to affiliated clubs so late in the season. Axelrod certainly earned the chance, compiling a 3-1 record, six saves and a 2.21 ERA in 61 innings with the T-Bolts.
